Chrystal Gray

B.Psych. Sci (Hons), M.Psych (Clinical), MAPS

Chrystal obtained a Bachelor of Psychological Science with honours from the University of Queensland in 2008. She has since completed a Masters of Clinical Psychology at Griffith University.

Chrystal’s diverse interests and dedication to evidence-based practice are demonstrated through her involvement in numerous research projects investigating improved supports for paediatric oncology families, drug and alcohol misuse and treatments, and ways to improve quality of life for people with dementia. Chrystal has a continuing interest in research and she looks forward to conducting research in the area of social resilience in school-aged children beginning in 2012.

Chrystal has experience across multiple settings including clinical, school, and hospital settings and she enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan. Her clinical experience with children includes helping children and their families cope with bullying, anxiety and depression; building social resilience; behaviour management; and toileting difficulties. Chrystal believes in capitalising on children’s strengths and adopting a holistic approach involving parents/ caregivers and teachers in order to achieve the best outcomes. She also has experience helping adults who are suffering with depression, alcohol misuse, or have recently suffered significant injury or illness to improve their coping resources. Chrystal is also skilled in cognitive assessments and report writing for children and adults.
