Position: Provisional Psychologist

Kate’s clinical interests include child and adolescent behavioural problems, attachment issues, parenting, family functioning, couple and family therapy. She has a specific interest in working with families, and views the inclusion of parents and the family as central components to successful intervention. She takes a strengths-based approach and aims to empower parents and children by providing information, skills and strategies in an understandable and accessible way that promote personal resilience and emotional well-being. Kate is an dedicated and committed clinician who is invested in generating positive change in the lives of her clients
Kate received her Honours in Psychology through the University of Southern Queensland (2009). She currently holds a scholarship to compete her PHD through the University of Queensland. Her research project is exploring the risk and protective factors for children with anxiety from a positive psychological framework. Kate’s commitment to research ensures that she has a strong and current interest in evidence-based interventions and their outcomes. As such, she has co-facilitated the ‘FUN FRIENDS’ and ‘FRIENDS for Life’ Groups at Pathways for the past 2 years and is committed to providing a professional and friendly service to all of her clients, both in Groups and one-on-one.
