Being a friend takes practice. Pathways FC allows our FRIENDS to come together and practice making friends, being brave, and having fun.

About Pathways FC 2018

Pathways FC provides FRIENDS the opportunity to continue practicing skills learned in the Programs and maintain friendships and make new ones. 

Facilitator: Michelle Hall 

First 2018 Session – Tuesday 23rd January, 2018.

Run every Tuesday during term time 3:30pm – 5:30pm.

Each session is 2hours and is a 1:5 ratio of participants to facilitator. Each group is capped at 8 participants.

Sessions are run by a fully accredited FRIENDS facilitator to help your child with coaching and practicing their social and emotional skills.

Child aged between 8 – 15 years old come together and “hang out”. Facilitators support positive engagement and reinforce use of skills learned through the FRIENDS programs.

The sessions aim to build social skills, encourage empathy, and build self-esteem.
Who: Friends For Life 8yo – 11yo  and My Friends Youth 12 – 15yo
When: Every Tuesday 3:30pm – 5:30pm 
Cost: $60 per session

Note: Students can access Pathways Centre from 3:00pm on FC session days and supervision is provided by our Director.

How do these sessions help?

The benefits of the Pathways After School  sessions are:

  • To help children further develop their social and emotional skills in a group setting
  • Opportunities to practice social and resilience skills in a controlled environment with experienced educators and facilitators.
  • To help develop  good life-long learning habits in a supportive environment
  • Reinforce key literacy and numeracy skills through supervised practice
  • Opportunities to make and maintain friendships

Skills covered include: social and communication skills, empathy and perspective-taking, problem-solving, self-regulation and self-awareness training and learning how to create and maintain friendships.
