At Pathways we provide individual and group based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to assist children/adolescents and their families in developing coping skills and resilience to improve their quality of life.
Our group-based CBT programs are very effective in providing children with a foundation of skills that assist them in developing more helpful thought and behaviour patterns. A great benefit of group programs is that it gives children an opportunity to “practice” the skills they learn with children of a similar age under the support of a qualified facilitator and clinician. For best results families engage in up to 5 individual sessions following the group programs, to consolidate the learning and apply them to more specific life situations for the child. There are several programs available catering to various age groups.
The Fun Friends Program helps guide the social and emotional development of children aged 4 to 7 by using fun, play-based group activities.
Friends for Life is a social skills and resilience building program that is recognised by the World Heath Organisation for over 12 years of comprehensive research and as an effective means to prevent anxiety for children aged 8-11.
My Friends Youth is a group-based development program that gives participants the tools to cope with the new challenges & experiences that come with the 12 to 15 year old age group.
The Adult Resilience course is ideal for students in year 11 or 12 as they may start to deal with a dramatic increase in schooling, social, and home pressures.
